Frequently asked questions
Will the watermark cover up my content?
Not if you lower the opacity — a lighter, semi-transparent watermark (like the default "CONFIDENTIAL" example) sits behind the text without making the page unreadable.
Can I watermark just some pages instead of all of them?
Not on this page — it applies to every page. If you only need certain pages watermarked, split the PDF first with Split PDF or Divide PDF, watermark the piece you need, then merge it back if needed.
Does the watermark stay if someone edits the PDF later?
The watermark is drawn directly into each page's content, so it stays unless someone specifically removes it — it's meant to visibly mark a document, not act as tamper-proof protection.
Can I use an image or logo as the watermark instead of text?
Not on this page — this tool is text-only. To stamp an image or logo onto pages, use the image tool in Edit PDF instead.
